Mom's Weekend {Mother's Day Style}

Okay, so this is no Mom's weekend...not yet anyway...
This was Mother's Day weekend.
But come 2031, I fully expect to celebrate Mothers day at Mom's weekend In Pullman.
No exceptions Reagan.

For now, I have no cause to complain. This was a pretty damn good weekend.

Cody and I drove to Roslyn Washington where we met my Mom and her BF, my Nana and Papa, Auntie Talyn and Uncle Rick. We rented a BEE-A-U-TIFUL cabin and spent the weekend laughing, drinking and catching up with each other. Of course Reagan was the star of the show, can't no one get enough of a chubby baby.

We arrived Friday evening, Reagan loved exploring her new diggs for the weekend - getting into every drawer, nook, and crany.

Lucky for us the place we rented was VERY kid friendly- more baby proofed than our own home to be honest. We found a plethora of toys in one of the closets, I was even guilty of thinking "I wonder if they'd miss this"...no I didn't clepto any of the toys, as tempting as it may have been.

Saturday morning Cody, Reagan and I took as leisurely jog through the jaw dropping 'cabin community'. The cabins were nothing less than spendy vacation homes, beautiful homes with lush yards and gardens, large window fronts, and the perfect high peaked roofs. Gorg. I asked Cody numerous times when we would be moving in. Anyway, we took a jog- the whole time I had mimosa's on my mind, knowing they would be waiting for me at the finish line. So perfectly mixed with champagne and a splash of more champagne...hey we're on vacation. ain't nobody got time for oj.

After breakfast, which was delish - complements to Chef Shawn - We got cleaned up and headed into the booming town of Roslyn to do a little an-ti-que shopping and have lunch at Washington's oldest Saloon.

Back to our dream cabin for an amazing BBQ and bon fire with the fam. A girl couldn't ask for anymore.

Sunday Morning we all woke up and got ready to ship out of la la land, we packed up and headed out to Brunch at Suncadia Resort. After working Mother's Day brunch for years I was delighted to be on the receiving end of the food!! It was beautiful, and delicious! Man what a treat!!

I felt so spoiled all weekend! Not just because we were on vacation, but also because I was surrounded with my amazing family. We don't all get together often over the year, but when we do there are so many laughs to be had, new memories made and old stories re-told. It's just what the doctor ordered. I hope so much that our little babes get to grow up and experience the love within our families.

We made the trek back home, I cleaned up while Cody headed to the grocery store. After Reagan went to bed we shared a special Mother's day dinner while enjoying a very good bottle of wine. My perfect Mother's day.

And Just for fun, a look at last years Mother's day::

Ten Months

Sweet Baby Girl,

Wow how these months keep flying by. This month was definitely one for the baby book, your first two teeth starting coming in (top two), you started waving and clapping your hands, you mimic the things Daddy and I say, including:: Hi Mama {or} Daddy, Hello, and all done. You pretend everything is a phone and hold it up to your ear then ramble on like you're chatting it up with your bestie. You recognize cows and say "Mooooooooo". You now free stand and take a step or two before face planting. And my favorite new thing, you just started giving me big slobbery kisses!! You love to cuddle and give hugs, also my favorite.

The weather has been getting warmer and we've been spending a lot of time outside, eating lunch on the deck and blowing bubbles! I'm looking forward to the next few months of Summer when you can play outside, and hopefully start walking!!

I'm planning your b-day bash and can't wait to celebrate your first year of life!!

Love you to the moon and the stars.

XOXO,

Momma

Sunny Shine, Shine On Me

Oh Mr. Sunshine, how we missed you.

I've been waiting quite some time to break out the short-shorts and catch some rays. Yes, Reagan is fully lathered in sunscreen, even though I've been insisting she works on her base tan..I kid.

I couldn't help but grabbing the camera while Reag and I snacked on chicken nuggets in the backyard.

My Momma keeps insisting that I find her an agent...this girl is PHOTO-GENIC!! It's all in the eyes.

She wasn't too keen on the sprinkler, I don't blame her, that water was COOOLLDDD!!

And...lets be honest, this happened::

I got way too impatient waiting for Mr. Sunshine to come out, so about a week before the warm weather came I slapped a suit on her and tossed her in the tub.

"One of those Moms"

This past Friday was a wake up call to my emotional motherhood, I witnessed my baby, my little baby girl, becoming a strong independent child. As I stood barefoot, watering the grass I watched you push your little bus back and forth across the yard. You would teeter and fall at times, but get right back up, only to take breaks to babble up a storm.

As I watched you, tears started rolling down my face, and I realized, I am "one of those Moms".
One of those Moms that cries on the first day of school, at prom, and for the first broken heart. I will be the embarrassing Mom with tissues in my purse at dance recitals and school plays. I will stand up and whoop for you with my arms in the air at sporting events and pull out the air horn at graduation. Why? Because I am PROUD. I will always be proud of your accomplishments, wether it's teetering across the lawn or nailing the 4th grade spelling bee.

I would have NEVER expected to be an emotional Mother, a crier, but I am. Im not even sorry about it.

"I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living,
My baby you'll be."

Xoxo,

Mommy

Nine Months

I finally got a chance to take your 9 month pictures...You my little sweetheart are getting progressively hard to take pictures of. Holding still for a photo op is not high on your priority list these days. Oh well, here they are:: Better late than never.

Reagan Grace,

My sweet girl, another month flying by and another month older. You are busier than ever, crawling and pulling yourself up on everything! It's a full time job keeping my eyes on you! I love to see your little brain working throughout the day as you curiously move about learning new things.

We start our day around 7am, you nurse and then play for a little bit. Then you eat breakfast, usually yogurt and applesauce or oatmeal with blueberries. Another hour or two and you're ready for a morning nap. Then we eat lunch, and you play as I move about the house doing laundry and dishes. Somewhere around 3pm you go down for another nap. Dinner about 6pm and bedtime about 9pm.

I have started putting together some plans for your birthday! I am very excited to celebrate you and the day you joined us in the world. I'm hoping to make it a great big bash, after all, you only get one first birthday!

This month you started waving and clapping, I'm currently trying to teach you how to blow kisses. You love to walk around while holding our hands, pretty soon I think you'll be walking around without us.

Love you to the Moon and to the Stars.

XOXO,

Mommy

American Gothic Austin Style

I've been longing for a new picture to put in our large barn board frame above the fireplace. I was unhappy with how badly the previous picture had 'puckered' so in disgust I took it out without a replacement. And so it hung, empty. I debated on a wedding picture or family picture....or wedding picture...or a family picture. Since we really don't have any family pictures yet my problem continued.

I think may have finally solved the problem with this beauty::

Two Years Married

Two years ago I married my best friend, I had no idea what a great adventure we were about to embark on. Cody has been the person I come to for sympathy, laughter, and advice. He has always been willing to listen to my concerns, and joys (even if I have to pry him away from the TV first). I try and remind myself daily that I am such a lucky girl, I truly believe Cody and I were meant to be together.

Things aren't always rosy around the Austin household, Cody and I work through our differences when they arise. We are obviously not experts on marriage, but we are learning as we go. It has been a fun ride, and I look forward to this next year.

I am truly lucky to have found my soul mate. I am thankful for his love and am so excited for our many years together as we walk through life hand in hand.

I can't believe that I was 26 weeks pregnant on this day last year. Time flies when you're having fun!
